Visit 1 – Palazzo Corsini

 

Our first stop takes us to Palazzo Corsini, a monument located just 60 seconds from BYPILLOW Goldoni. This impressive 17th-century Baroque palace houses a large art collection, including works by Caravaggio and Rubens.

Visit 2 – Ponte Vecchio

We continue to the Ponte Vecchio, one of the city’s most iconic monuments, just an 8-minute walk from the hotel. This 14th-century bridge originally housed butcher and fishmonger shops, but now you’ll find jewelry stores and luxury shops. Crossing the Ponte Vecchio, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Arno River and the colorful façades of the buildings.

Did you know that during World War II, the Nazis destroyed all the bridges in Florence except the Ponte Vecchio? Legend has it that Hitler, impressed by its beauty and originality, ordered it not to be destroyed. We don’t know if it’s true, but what is certain is that all the Florentine bridges were bombed except the Ponte Vecchio, the only one that remained intact.

Visit 3 – Galería Uffizi

 

The Uffizi Gallery, just 10 minutes from BYPILLOW Goldoni, is one of the world’s most prestigious art museums, with Renaissance masterpieces such as Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” and “Primavera.” From its windows, you can enjoy unique views of the Arno River and Florence’s historic center.

Visit 4 – Palazzo Vecchio

The route takes us to Piazza della Signoria, an open-air museum with the Neptune Fountain, a replica of Michelangelo’s “David,” and the Loggia dei Lanzi. Here is the Palazzo Vecchio, with its imposing 94-meter tower and the Hall of the Five Hundred, a large audience hall adorned with paintings and sculptures.

Visit 5 – Catedral de Santa Maria del Fiore

Next, we head to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, better known as the Duomo, a masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Its dome, designed by Brunelleschi, is one of the greatest engineering feats of its time. The cathedral’s façade, adorned with green, white, and red marble, is impressive.

Visit 6 – Campanile de Giotto

Giotto’s Campanile is the bell tower of the Duomo and another wonderful visit. Also clad in green, white, and red marble, it is a gem of Italian Gothic architecture.

Prepare to stretch your legs climbing the 463 steps of the dome and the 414 steps of the bell tower, but also to enjoy two of the best panoramic views of Florence.

Visit 7 – Mercado de San Lorenzo

Our next stop is the San Lorenzo Market, ideal for a snack and just a 12-minute walk from BYPILLOW Goldoni. This market combines history, culture, and gastronomy. Outside, you’ll find leather goods, clothing, and crafts, and inside the Mercato Centrale, you can delight in fresh products and traditional Tuscan dishes.

And a quarter of an hour from the hotel is another spectacular monument: the Basilica of Santa Croce. This Franciscan church is the resting place of geniuses like Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Machiavelli, and Rossini. Santa Croce boasts Giotto frescoes and a cloister that will leave you speechless.
