Ana Madrid
Memory and Light
Ana Madrid is a photographer and visual creator. Her work blends commercial commissions with personal projects, and in all of them she seeks to build subtle visual narratives that connect with the emotional and the symbolic. Her bond with Alicante dates back to childhood summers, when the city left a deep imprint on her imagination. She bases her practice on careful observation and the pursuit of moments suspended in time. Ana has developed exhibition and editorial projects that explore the relationship between space, identity, and memory.
Artistic Manifesto
Ana Madrid’s vision is nourished by memory but also by architecture, the rhythm of daily life, and Mediterranean light. She freely explores new visual languages and techniques without sacrificing the coherence of her perspective. She is interested in capturing the emotional through minimal means, investigating how light falls upon objects and how framing can transform an ostensibly trivial scene into an image rich with meaning.

Ana Madrid’s BYPILLOW Paseo Project (Alicante)
At BYPILLOW Paseo, Ana Madrid presents five photographic series conceived especially for the hotel, each portraying Alicante from a different angle: the geometry of Eusebio Sempere’s sculptures—he a pivotal figure in kinetic art and creator of some of the city’s most iconic public works—the festive vitality of the Hogueras de San Juan, the promenade of the Explanada, and the sensuality of the sea captured in a light that evokes Sorolla. One series focuses on sunbathers at the beach, employing a direct approach to realistic portraiture with the clear intention of capturing the most genuine essence of Alicante’s summer life. While each body of work stems from a distinct inquiry, they all share a sensibility that renders the local universal. Integrated into guest rooms and common areas, the images engage in dialogue with the spaces and reinforce the hotel’s connection to the city. The result is a visual journey that extends the guest experience and offers immersion into Alicante’s identity through its light, rhythm, and most recognizable symbols.
