Mister Andreu

Barcelona in Its Purest Essence

A graphic designer by training, Mister Andreu rediscovered Barcelona in the midst of the pandemic. With no tourists or noise, he began to wander its streets with fresh eyes. One day, as he looked up at the Sagrada Familia, he noticed details he had never seen before. That was when he realized that his city still had much to reveal to him. That’s how his first illustrations came to be, and they were shared on social media to great acclaim. Today, from his studio-shop in the Gothic Quarter, he continues to visually explore Barcelona, distilling its complexity into clean, geometric compositions full of light.

Artistic manifesto

Mister Andreu reinterprets Barcelona through intuition. He doesn’t seek the perfect postcard or photographic fidelity, but rather to condense the city into its volumes, its light, and its rhythm. He doesn’t start with sketches or fixed structures: he lets himself be guided by what he sees, remembers, or senses in an instant. When he works, time dissolves. And with just five colors, he composes scenes that, in their apparent simplicity, reveal all of Barcelona’s visual personality.

Mister Andreu's Project at BYPILLOW Twenty

The connection between Mister Andreu and BYPILLOW Twenty was immediate: his work seemed made to inhabit the hotel. His vibrant and balanced palette resonated with the interior design of the space, creating a natural harmony between art, architecture, and experience. Among the selected works appear icons such as La Boqueria, Pont del Bisbe, or the silhouette of the Sagrada Familia, along with other less obvious but equally symbolic corners: the Owl of Rótulos Roura, the Fàbrica de les Tres Xemeneies, or the Cable Car. Each print invites you to pause. Distributed throughout rooms and common areas, his illustrations bring character and serenity, integrating discreetly into the environment. They are an emotional map that connects the guest with the most genuine essence of Barcelona.
