Marcos Navarro

Chromatic Memory

Marcos Navarro is a visual artist and illustrator based in San Sebastián, known for his organic and symbolic style in which nature, culture, and memory intertwine through color. His pictorial language draws on comics, urban art, and contemporary illustration, and has taken shape in murals, gallery exhibitions, and editorial collaborations. He has developed projects across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, establishing himself as a singular voice in mural art.

Artistic Manifesto

Navarro’s work builds a universe where natural elements merge with human forms, creating dreamlike scenes of great visual power. In his compositions, color serves as a guiding thread: it links the personal with the collective, the symbolic with the sensory. The artist forges a bridge between cultures and visual languages, and his pieces function as metaphors for the balance between nature and the human experience.

The Project at BYPILLOW Amari (Bilbao)

For BYPILLOW Amari, Marcos Navarro has created a large-scale mural that transforms the hotel lobby into an immersive stage. Inspired by the landscapes of the Basque Country, his intervention combines human figures, animals, and vegetation in an open-ended narrative rich with cultural and ecological references. Fragments of the mural have been reproduced as standalone artworks in guest rooms and corridors, extending its chromatic imagery throughout the building. In every corner, the work invites guests to look closely and let themselves be carried away by a visual experience that connects them to the identity of the place.
